January 16, 2013WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on President Obama’s press conference:
“President Obama’s series of gun control measures amount to an executive power grab that may please his political base but will not solve the problems at hand. He paid lip service to our fundamental constitutional rights, but took actions that disregard the 2nd Amendment and the legislative process. Representative government is meant to give voice to the people; President Obama’s unilateral executive action ignores this principle,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
“Instead, we need to work together to find real solutions – many of which do not come from the federal government – that help protect our children and communities while also being firm in protecting Americans’ constitutional rights.”

One needs to look no further than the states with the toughest restrictions on firearms to see that they are the ones consistently ranking the highest in violent crime. When you limit an individual’s ability to lawfully purchase or carry firearms you are allowing only those with the intent to break the law to have weapons.”
“We must focus on reducing violent crime and keeping our families safe by encouraging our local communities to work with law enforcement and prioritize school safety. We should also devote resources to improving mental health services so that we can intervene early and curb violent behavior. These are constructive and constitutionally sound ways of dealing with this serious issue.”

WASHINGTON – At yesterday’s press conference, President Obama insisted that Congress blindly raise the debt ceiling without any corresponding spending cuts.
Obama is hoping that his Washington allies like Kyrsten Sinema will continue to rubberstamp his failed policies that are bankrupting the country.
“Kyrsten Sinema has backed President Obama on his irresponsible policies that created this fiscal mess,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek.”Now will she also give the president a platinum credit card so he can raise the debt ceiling without cutting any spending?”

January 1, 2013Washington, D.C. – Tuesday evening, Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ), voted against H.R. 8, the”Fiscal Cliff” bill. He released the following statement after the vote:
“Sadly, a new year brings more of the same.
“Only in Washington would a bill that spends more, taxes more, and creates more debt, without addressing our out-of-control spending be called a ‘balanced approach.’
“Further, this is not a compromise and it certainly does nothing to address our entitlement crisis or the $16 trillion in debt that continues to grow every day.
“Any fix to our economic woes will be nothing more than window dressing until we address our spending problem.
“However bleak this fiscal cliff ‘solution’ may look, I am only more determined to continue to do what Arizonans sent me to Washington to do—fight to reduce the size and cost of government.
